My name is Renée Lachelle Brown and I was born on May 19, 1975 in Detroit, Michigan to a 15 year old unwed mother. She named me Renée for its meaning of "rebirth or born again Christian." Essentially, she was saying that I was the rebirth of her mother who passed away three years prior to my birth. After a tragic incident that severely injurerd me at the tender age of six months old I was taken from my mother and placed in the custody of my 67 year old great grandmother. Great grandmother was a devout Christian who professed to trust God, but had very little faith. Me on the other hand, I was a dreamer. As a child at eight years old I dreamed of becoming a college educated woman that could be independent, self-sufficient and make a difference in the lives of others. My dreams have come true. But, the glory of the story comes from all that I have gained from breaking the chains that bound me to a false identity. Now I am free to totally embrace my Godly Character, live Authentically and experience Transformation continuously.
After graduating from high school I went on to obtain a Bachelor's of Science Degree with a Marketing major from Central Michigan University. Followed by a great professional stint at Ford Motor Company, I went on to achieve a Master's Degree in Public Administration and a Juris Doctor from law school.
Shortly, after completing law school I would soon find myself on God's Potter's Wheel where I would remain for several years. It was at this time that I began to understand the meaning of the Proverbs 19:21 that say's: " You can make many plans,
but the Lord’s purpose will prevail." I had chosen the path I thought would yield me success, yet doom and gloom would appear to overtake me. But God, Mr. Always intentional allowed me to experience some great hardships and persecutions. This would last several years as I journeyed into self. I had to go through the valley of depression, the wilderness of instability and great pain in order to refined, refreshed and purposely transformed into my true identity.
I love the outdoors, the water, boating/ beaching, hiking and long distance driving. I am totally into discussions concerning religion and politics. An activist and an avid reader. I enjoy a few television programs that are along the lines of religion, news and documentaries. I am active in church - womens ministry, singles ministry and prison ministry. I love to spend time with my daughter especially now that she is a teenager/young adult. She keeps me balanced.
I love sunny days because the energy I get from the sun and beaming blue skies. I truly enjoy being outdoors, bike riding, jogging or just a brisk walk. I like to look and smell good too. If you ever want to buy me a gift you can never go wrong with perfume, provided that it really does smell great on me. I like to take road trips. Driving is soothing to my mind and spirit. My daughter enjoys traveling with me too. My favorite colors are various shades of pink, purple, brown and orange. I appreciate modern technology but I do not like texting over talking.
